{No Time Like the Present} Olympus XA2, 2018
When I got this roll of film taken with my Olympus XA2 developed (about three years after I’d shot it,) I looked at the images and thought “I forget what a special little camera it is!” Maybe it’s the charm of the XA2’s design, the ease of use, or the fact that it’s so darn portable that you can take it anywhere, (or all of the above) but the Olympus XA2 is a camera I’m really happy to have in my photographic arsenal (though I hope my niece gets interested enough in photography that I can let her be the primary user of my XA2! She’s shot a roll with it!)

{No Time Like the Present} Sears 35rf, 2019
I mentioned a couple of posts back that I used to have a series called “Forgotten Frames” for when I found a roll of undeveloped film that was old enough for me to have forgotten what was on it. As opposed to the current series of photos from film I just plain didn’t get developed for far too long – the photos should not go under the “forgotten frames” category, but I don’t always remember what was on the film either. The reason I went into that spiel is that I was genuinely a bit perplexed by the photos on this roll. There were a lot of them that I couldn’t remember taking nor did I remember having this camera with me some of the places shown in the pictures. It was only because I knew the last few photos were taken with my Sears 35rf that I was able to identify which camera I’d used for these.
I had the 35rf with me at Low Fi once? I have no memory of this.
I was SERIOUSLY confused by photos of a hotel pool on this roll (I think it was when we went to see Lauren Daigle in concert and stayed in a hotel so we didn’t have to drive back late.)
When did I take this camera to the Memphis Zoo?? Oh, it must have been that day we visited the zoo because our neighborhood had a planned power outage.
I used this camera at Coffee Central Squared? If you say so!
Using the 35rf at my job to photograph this car does not ring a bell.
The only reason I was able to identify the camera for this roll of film: I remember taking photos of the lights at City and State because I was trying to show my niece how using a rangefinder camera worked.

{No Time Like the Present} Minolta Hi-Matic AF2, 2019
This post does fall into the “no time like the present” blog category, but it’s also sort of “hey, I got to try out ANOTHER Minolta Hi-matic AF2!”
I say that these cameras keep coming to me. I had my original Hi-matic AF2 from 2017 when I found so many cameras at thrift shops (I paid $2.50 for it.) Then, early in 2019, I happened upon another one for $1.00 at a local discount store that sells mostly used goods. It was pretty dirty, but I couldn’t leave it there. That one works, but I never got around to using it. Then, a few months later, I found the pièce de résistance: a Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 that came with the lens cover! It isn’t a big deal, but since this was the first time I’d found one with the cover, I had to have it! (Cost: $8.00)
I happened to go to a baseball game a couple of days after finding this camera, so that’s where this roll of film began. Also: I bought this camera because I wanted the lens cap, then nearly lost it forever at this baseball game. It fell off somewhere, and I really didn’t think that I’d be able to find it. It was next to a trash can 🙁
